Summer Cosplay Academy

Summer Cosplay Academy is a one-week program where students will build costumes and accessories from start to finish to represent a specific character.

Open to students ages 13 and up, the class will allow students to craft their heart out! Students will be armor and accessories from a variety of materials such as Fosshape, Worbla, VeriForm, and fabric. Students will also learn to cut, dye, and style their own wigs!

But what is cosplay if you can’t wear it? Students will also learn to utilize costume through specific acting and improv techniques. Show off at your next convention!

All classes take place on the West Virginia University Evansdale Campus in the Creative Arts Center.

Led by WVU Faculty and guest artists who are dedicated and skilled in working with young artisans.

Enrollment is limited to 10 students.

Register SOON!

“Students should walk away from the camp with the skills to build fantasy costumes from scratch-- everything from capes to light up armor,” said Tiffany Delligatti, clinical assistant professor of costuming. “This workshop is unlike any offered in the state. It offers techniques on thermoplastics, painting, LEDs and many other creative costuming tricks all taught by industry professionals.”
