New World Ensemble

New World Ensemble is a group of 16 to 20 singers and dancers who are dedicated to giving back, often performing events on and off campus. The group's repertoire includes selections ranging from Candide to Hamilton to popular music.

The ensemble was founded by director General McArthur Hambrick in the Fall of 2015 a s a way to give musical theatre students an outlet to perform and to share their talents with the community.  These students volunteer their time rehearsing outside of their busy class schedules in preparation for performances.  In their seventh year as ambassadors for West Virginia University they are proud to represent the talent the School of Theatre and Dance has to offer.

“I saw a need to create an extracurricular opportunity for young people to perform and hone their skills and to share their music by traveling to areas that may not otherwise experience music from Broadway, ” said Hambrick.

New World Ensemble is excited to start a new year, hoping once again to go out and perform for university programs, hospitals, secondary schools, conventions, and holiday celebrations.
