What would you do if your maid couldn’t clean? When Dr. Lane hires a housekeeper, she assumes the maid will keep her house in tip-top shape, but her new employee has other plans. Out of tragedy and loss come strength and serenity. In a world turned on its head, a maid brings a healthy mess into a clean house.
Tickets are $20 dollars for the general public and $15 dollars for senior citizen and students.
Sarah Ruhl writes in a style that is all her own. Her plays are modern, visceral, and they break away from "normal" conventions of theatre in order to engage the audience in an experience of relationship and community. 'The Clean House' is her most frequently produced play, and is no exception to Ruhl's poignant style. Through a series of scenes the complexity of human interaction/relationship is revealed, and the play asks questions without preaching a message.
The wonderfully talented cast and production team have been committed to presenting Ruhl's vision. Their mission is to reinforce the sense of community, give the audience a truthful experience, and shed light on a common human experience.
