Dance Minor Scholarships
Each year, the Division of Theatre and Dance offers several cash awards ranging from $500 to $1,500 to students pursuing the dance minor at West Virginia University. All awards are competitive, and are granted on the basis of the demonstration of outstanding talent, academic achievement, and potential for success.
Audition Dates
To be eligible for a dance minor scholarship, all applicants must complete the audition and interview process. Dates for audition, and interviews, as well as special College of Creative Arts’ scholarship events, can be found at: http://ccarts.wvu.edu/future_students/events_and_programs
Auditions and Interview Process
All applicants must participate in an audition class. The purpose of the audition class is to demonstrate the applicant?s technical ability in a variety of dance styles and his/her ability to take direction. Applications will also present a 2-3 minutes solo followed by an informal interview with the Director of Dance. Applicants are requested to wear appropriate attire for the audition.
All applicants will be assessed on their demonstrated and potential ability.
